Entrepreneurship and Educational Center
School for children and adults
Hwange, Zimbabwe
2017
Zimbabwe is one of the countries with the greatest humanitarian crisis in the world. This exists, in the first place, because there is neither enough employment not education for its citizens. Most of the times parents can not afford an education for their children. To change this situation we have to go around what we know today as learning.

The solution is to create a space where children and adults cangrow through workshops and classes that allow them to learnhow to survive by exercising a trade, gaining knowledge abouthelth, water treatments, foods, micro-entrepreneurship...
The origin of this pace begins in the orchard, which is the central element that will allow the development of the project. The center is generated by the people who participate in it, creating a joint comunity with expansion capacity improving the quality of people’s life.
The workshops are the most important part of this project. In them, children can get an education and adults can improve their quality of life by learning a profession or becoming more educated. The micro-entrepreneurship workshops are intended to create small businesses in agriculture, animal husbandry or African furniture design, encouraging creativity and profit-making activities.

The roof favors sunlight and shade depending on the orientation. For this reason, the workshops are located to the north, in order to have more light in winter. The roof shapes are curved allowing air circulation and ventilation, adapting it to the orientation and needs of the site. To generate the necessary curvatures, we built a bamboo mesh with a paraboloidal shape that allows the roof to rise and fall fluidly.
